Will the original acting cast from the Star Wars classic
trilogy return for Star Wars Episode 7?
Theoretically speaking and in a perfect world, the entire
original acting cast featured in the Star Wars classic
trilogy will appear in Star Wars Episode vii. However,
realistically speaking, the salary demands, even from
secondary characters, will be steep. Harrison Ford (Han
Solo) would require a base monetary amount of $ 50
million U.S. dollars plus a substantial percentage of the
worldwide box office gross from theaters and ancillary
merchandising revenues to return for Star Wars 7.
Additionally, the other primary actors Mark Hamill (Luke
Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Billy Dee
Williams (Lando Calrissian) will expect a minimum of
$ 25 million U.S. dollars each to return as their
respective Star Wars characters. Anthony Daniels (C-3PO)
and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) would likely be expensive
even though both these actors received reasonably low
acting salaries for appearing in the spectacular Star
Wars prequel trilogy.
Other original actors from the Star Wars classics would
require additional multiple millions of U.S. dollars. All
and all, the lowest possible combined salaries for all the
actors and actresses appearing in Star Wars Episode Seven
would be roughly $ 200 million U.S. dollars. When Lucasfilm
adds the production budget, promotional and distribution
costs to the acting salaries, the full movie budget would
be approximately $ 500 million U.S. dollars. This would
make Star Wars Episode 7 the most expensive motion picture
in the history of cinema.
